AND-02 105
acre certified organic family farm with 3-4 acres in vegetables and 10 acres
under cultivation. Wide variety of vegetables, herbs, flowers, and fruits
marketed to locally owned stores and restaurants. Greenhouses for season
extension. Apprentices are housed in tent-like yurts. We enjoy eating the
nourishing food we produce, and as time allows, playing music, and cooling off
in our farm pond! August- End of Season
AND-03
Diverse mixed vegetable, fruit, flower, and herb farm on 150-year-old family
farmstead in western Maine with beautiful views of the Presidential range to
the west. Also an opportunity to work in a small farm-based antique business.
FRA-07
Homestead farm since 1971. 85 acres, with 4 in perennial and annual crops
(including extensive terraces). Focuses are: self-sufficiency, plant-based
fertility (no livestock), growing grains and other staples, extensive &
innovative companion planting, seed-saving, and growing unusual crops
(hazelnuts, hardy kiwis, pepitas, sunchokes, etc.). Home of The Scatterseed
Project, a crop heritage preservation program.
KEN-03
40-acre diversified commercial organic farm. We grow organic mixed veggies and
herbs and maintain our small orchard on our 170 year old family farm. We have a
Jersey cow, sheep, bees and hens and a team of horses. We sell at our farm
stand and at market. You will have the opportunity to learn organic farming
skills, homesteading, carpentry, food preservation, and horse powered equipment
use. We are currently growing in two high tunnels as well. August- End of

KEN-15
We are focused on four season production of vegetables. Small and large fruits,
bees, laying hens and a growing herd of dairy goats for milk and cheese
production round out the picture at this central Maine farm. Using a mixture of
hand and power equipment and following biodynamic practices. Farmstand, CSA,
farmer’s markets and direct sales get our product from the several cultivated
acres to the consumer.
KNX-04
Our farm is located near the lakes and ocean of Midcoast Maine. We have
approximately four field acres and two greenhouses in mixed vegetable
production and grow a wide range of produce for a 140 member CSA and wholesale
accounts. We also milk a dairy cow and raise pigs and chickens for family use.
Farming is a family affair for us with our young children and we make it as
sustainable and enjoyable as possible!
KNX-13
Located in the mid-coast community of Hope, Maine, our CSA provides a wide
variety of produce to over 100 shareholders. Using tractor and people power we
cultivate just over 3.5 acres, and produce hay and graze an additional 15 to 20
acres. We are a licensed raw milk dairy and home to a small flock of sheep.
KNX-16
We located on Route 1 in Warren, two miles from Thomaston bridge. We have a 35
year history, currently cultivating 30 acres of land and producing more than 35
varieties of fruits and vegetables including sweet corn, apples, strawberries,
tomatoes, peas, beans, peppers, beet greens, cucumbers, cabbage, squash,
pumpkins, and cut flowers. We sell all our produce at the farm store located on
the property, on the busy Route 1. We have a very good customer base. We are
looking for a serious apprentice with strong agricultural background.
LIN-08 A
highly diversified organic horse-powered farm that rotationally grazes sheep,
chickens, pigs, cows and horses, raises a wide variety of vegetables and horse
logs on three adjacent farms just outside Wiscasset Village. This farm is
trying to create a living family wage, but incorporates many homesteading
aspects. Winter and Meat CSAs and farmer’s markets are our primary markets.

Incredible opportunity to learn about diversified, but integrated farming
systems 289 acre certified organic farm specializing in dairy, mixed
vegetables, beef, and poultry. We sell at five farmer’s markets each week,
specialty food stores, restaurants, and a CSA. Hardworking young family looking
for hard working apprentices and potential business partners.
SOM-17
200 acre organic dairy farm. Gain experience working with cattle and learning
milking, herd health, equipment use and repair, putting up feed and also
raising beef, chickens, pigs, and vegetables.

Harakiel is an historic, 107 acre Sandy River farm settled in 1776 - 60 acres
old growth woodlot, 30 acres hayfields, the remainder farmyard, paddocks,
vegetable gardens, high tunnel. Our practices are organic and we are committed
to creating healthy soils for maximum nutritional value in our grasses and
crops.

Intern on two farms at once on the beautiful the Sandy River in Starks, Maine.
Sweet Land Farm grows winter squash on a large scale while cultivating unusual
vegetable crops for ethic markets in southern Maine and for FEDCO Seed
Cooperative seed trials. Songbird Farm is a new, certified organic veggie
operation with an heirloom cornmeal speciality.
