Hello! We are Brien and Bekah, a young couple (23 and 22) in the Springfield, Ohio area looking for opportunities for internship and/or employment in organic agriculture. We both come from rural backgrounds, and while we've gardened, raised dairy goats and even cows, horses and pigs on a small scale in the past, we see this time as an opportunity to learn the ins and outs of making organic agriculture sustainable and self-supporting. We hope to have our own farm sometime in the future, but baby steps first!In the meantime we look forward to working hard and learning all there is to know about organic agriculture on a local and community basis, as well as sustainable living in general! We are both physically healthy and fit, our needs are spartan and we are committed to learning and practicing rural sustainability in its holistic totality, as a couple and a family. We see this as the next step to gaining the experience necessary to do so sucessfully. We have a baby who is due in late August, but see that as all the more reason to work, learn and particpate in the sustainable lifestyle! We are looking first and foremost in the Dayton, Ohio area and the surrounding states, though we can travel farther if needed. We can work for short or long terms, though participating in an entire growing season would be ideal.
