About:
It's not what we do, it's how we do it.Global Creek is an environmental education and sustainable-living centre based out of theCaribbean coast of Costa Rica, borne in the area of Puerto Viejo de Talamanca in 2008. Ourmission is to connect local and international communities to further ecological research andinformation sharing and to ultimately further – make simpler and more accessible – holisticsustainable living approaches for both our local communities and international visitors (in theirown lives and their communities as well). Our main international reach towards these goalscomes through our highly-reviewed Volunteer Program, in which we work with host campusesto provide an experiential-learning centre not only for daily visitors but for a completelyintegratedvolunteer work-living experience.Global Creek's core campuses are at their foundations sustainable-living centres and biodynamicresearch farms, active and working, where all of our operations and activities arecarried-out in the most environmentally-friendly, ecological and sustainable – in all facets ofthe word – manner possible. Our work starts with and focuses on our grounds and varyingoperations and projects found directly at our campuses, and then extends right out first tolocal and even global communities. All of our programs and projects are supported andindeed run by our volunteers in our top-rated work-exchange operation, providing yet anotherlevel of sustainability in this grassroots-style approach. This turns first-and-foremost directly into aworking, learning ecological farm and guest space where we come together to learn and doand share with all others, however we can.How You Can Be InvolvedOur volunteer work-exchange program is designed to provide some unique growth andlearning opportunities to those able to lend their time and energy to support our programs andoperations and allow us to provide these priceless benefits and services to the local andglobal communities, human and otherwise. We offer volunteers accommodation andamenities in a natural setting at one of our various unique-but-always-gorgeous campuses, specialized and customized learning resources and opportunities, organic healthy meals andbeverages, direct on-the-ground and -in-community experiential learning, tours and excursionsto local areas & sites and some truly unique and special learning and personal growthopportunities. This comes in exchange for volunteers’ time and energy in supporting us in ourvarious sustainability projects, a modest fee to cover basic living and support costs, and mostimportantly the investment of their passion in what we will be accomplishing together. As a volunteer, you might say it Is what we all do, and how you do it.Welcome to Global Creek!

Hola All! Thank you to everyone below for contacting us and for your interest in joining us here at Global Creek. While all of you have already received the information below personally, we are posting some of it here too in order to share some basic updates with anyone and all interested... Earlier this year we introduced all new campus options with increased, broader and more in-depth learning and experiences for our program and volunteers. Now through this spring, we have been expanding our home base and core campus to an ever-more experiential, sustainability learning campus. The new "One World" campus is now hosting up to 9 core volunteers, and our space plus options will double here this summer! The projects and new opportunities are really incredible... You may have already seen our web site, but to find out more about us and our volunteer work-exchange program including some of our core projects, what we are looking for from our volunteers, what we provide in return, and many of the great things to look forward to and enjoy during a stay with us, please have a read through our Volunteer Program Overview document at http://www.aglobalcreek.com/resources/volunteerProgram_intro.pdf . Our web site (www.aGlobalCreek.com) contains yet more information about us and what we do, plus more pictures of our space, volunteers and the local area (with, yes, even more info to go along with that!). We have even more exciting information to share about new projects available for upcoming volunteers with which we have not yet been able to update our site, but let us know if you're interested to hear more. Please note that our primary need for volunteers these next seasons of summer and autumn 2012  is at our One World Jungle Permaculture Farm & Wildlife Sanctuary, as 'Campus Volunteers'. Let us know of any further questions you may have stemming from all this - We're here to answer any questions, and hope to hear from you soon! Dear to whom this may concern, I am very interested in permaculture and sustainable living. I would love nothing more than to come and learn at your farm over the summer. I am 21, mature, strong able-bodied man who truly feels that the most important skill to have in our day and age is the knowledge of sustainability.  Is there any chance I could come and give an extra hand to your farm over the summer? Last summer I spent a month in Costa RIca on an organic farm and loved it extremely and want to keep getting more experience in the future.  Hope to hear from you soon, Alex Grau
