Clagett Farm is a property of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. There are 285 acres, which we use for grass-fed beef, a native tree nursery, an educational program, and a 270-member CSA. We also work closely with the Capital Area Food Bank to distribute nearly half of our harvest of produce to low-income people--some as half-price CSA shares, but mostly as donations to nearby kitchens, shelters and social service agencies that serve people in need.
Our CSA shares sell out by early March, but we always welcome people who would like to work in exchange for food. After four hours of work, on any weekday or Saturday, an adult can take the same share of produce that our paying members receive for that week. We also welcome volunteers of all ages, as individuals or groups.
