Guided by our faith and ethics, we are dedicated to sustainable, simple living, love of our neighbor, and creating a community in which everyone can participate in growing and eating delicious, healthy, locally produced food. We are committed to service: To our workers, to the land, and to the hungry. We operate a CSA and sell food at local Co-op and local restaurants. We also exchange food for work and/or give food on a sliding scale to anyone who wants to come to the farm. We are not certified organic, but grow according to organic principles.

We believe in farming in a way that rebuilds and creates living soil and a complex agroecosystem. We use a 5 year annual crop rotation, winter cover crops and green manures, and are in the process of developing a permaculture design, perennial crops, erosion control and waterway protection. We don't use petrol-derived pesticides.  The food we grow feeds our CSA, our workers, local food shelves and free community meals. We believe in solidarity with the poor, hospitality to the homeless, hospitality for learners. We strive to practice nonviolence, cooperative consensus decision making, respect for the dignity of all life, and openness to all spirituality and worldviews.

In pursuit of sustainability, we try to decrease our dependence on fossil fuels: walking, bicycling, solar and wind power, manual labor, conservation of resources.

We produce your standard Midwestern vegetables: Peas, beans, potatoes, spinach, lettuce, broccoli, tomatoes, peppers, onion, a variety of perennial vegetables and fruits, and sometimes more daring vegetables for fun. Chickens are on the way!

Workers can come for 1-2 week trial period, for longer if it's working out for everyone April 20th-October 1st. Camping, with a shower, indoor plumbing, and kitchen. We expect the volunteers to work 30 hours a week, plus help with food preparation and cleanup. There will be other volunteers traveling from the nearby town regularly. English and Spanish are spoken, please ask us about children and pets. Any diet can be accommodated. No drugs.
