Organic Farm KURIKINDI is a family based farm located in the community of El Batán, an indigenous community of Andean region of Cotacachi county in northern Ecuador.

Our main objective is to live a SLOW LIFE.  We believe in harboring an engaging relationship with nature, a nature that grows in harmony with our own personal development and happiness.  With a creative approach, the insatiable drive of materialism is not the moments' fuel, but instead a nurtured appreciation for the process that granted us that moment and those to come.

In order to live SLOWLY, we practice organic farming, green construction (now working on straw bale house!) and some ecological practices (solar shower, compost toilet, recycling etc.) in our daily lives.

KURIKINDI is always open to those who wish to learn and practice a slow life, especially organic agriculture.  We need help basically in farming (e.g. weeding, seeding, watering, planting and transplanting, removing and putting fertilizer, making organic fertilizer, collecting and cleaning seeds etc.).  Our volunteers can immerse themselves in every aspect of our farm - from planting the seeds to harvest & sale of our vegetables and to your dish! - all within a small farm nestled in a community between the spectacular volcanoes of Mamá Cotacachi and Taita Imbabura in Ecuador.

We offer our program with a cost of $12/night (from 2wks and on) or $300/month in order to cover the minimum cost.

We hope that our volunteers are inspired with new ideas and possiblities for practicing SLOW LIVING in their own homes.
