Internship Details: We are a small mixed vegetable farm, so the intern will be involved in all parts of the process from tractor driving, to seeding, to making compost, to planting, to weeding (woohoo!), to harvesting, to working farmers markets to dozens of other tasks that keep our little farm vibrant and running. As a relatively new farm, we are very open to new ideas and insights into making our farm better and more sustainable. The fresh ideas of our interns have been invaluable!
We keep a five day work week with Sundays and Thursdays free. The weekly hours vary with the seasons as winter workdays are shorter than spring hours. We have two children that are two years (Abigail) and five years old (Olivia). As a stay at home dad/farmer I spend at two days at home during the week with them. During this time period the interns often work alone or with workshare members or volunteers. This calls for initiative and leadership during that time period.
Our farm is just 10 minutes from downtown Jax and 30 minutes to beautiful beaches!
