We are new Agrarians comprised of Family, Friends, and Interns building a self sufficient farm and community in secluded northern New Mexico on a beautiful 900 acre ranch.
We raise various vegetables in our ½ acre garden and two petite greenhouses. We also raise a large herd of Goats (Dairy, Meat, and Cashmere), a few Cows (Beef and Dairy), One adorable Yak, Laying hens, Heritage Hogs, and also have an abundance of Dogs and Cats, as well as a pair of friendly free-roaming(free-loading?) horses.
Our main focus is to have a good time producing food for our selves with our animals and gardens, using sustainable and holistic methods. We produce our own Milk, Eggs, Veggies, and Meat, preserving our harvest to last us until the next harvest. We also make our own bread, pasta, crusts, crackers, tortillas and just about everything else we eat. Additionally we always have a lot of fun building projects utilizing low-cost/no-cost building methods.Beyond producing food for ourselves, we also find that it is necessary to generate income from ranch made and grown products, so that we can pay pesky things like taxes and be able to buy things we're not able to produce, like hay and rice for instance. A few of us create products that we offer for sale, including Glass art, and Weavings among other things.
