Description: Recruiting for all 2012 sessions is underway. Spring: March 28-May 30, Summer: June 13-Aug 22 and Fall: Seopt 5-Nov 14. Cultivate, harvest and learn uses of medicinal plants as you work with a community of other interns alongside our production farm and landscape crews.You will spend time with over fifty herb crops and in the education/display garden and general landscape of this 85 acre herb farm/botanical sanctuary. We provide communal living quarters with kitchen, research library, laundry, garden, outdoor living space and an average of 10 hours/week of personalized class time. Our syllabus includes Nutrition and Healing, Phytochemicals As Medicine, Botany of Herbs, Medicine Making Classes, Plant Spirit Medicine, Ethnobotany-Wild Foods and Fibers, Clinical Herbalism, Cultivation of Medicinal Plants, Principles & Practice of Extraction,Introduction to Ayurvedic Herbology: Agni, 20 Qualities and the Doshas, Herbs for Wilderness First Aid, Flower Essences, and a series of Plant ID Walks.
