We're the farm component of a new Eco Village (well, it will be an eco village. Once we build buildings).  75 acres, rolling fields, small river, abandoned quarry filled with wildflowers.  Lots of forest across the the river.

We're moving into our second year with the farm.  Last year, we created a 1.5 acre annual garden and started going to a few markets.  This year, we'll be getting a tree nursery going, cover cropping for future orchard and nut forest space, as well as planting a half acre mixed fruit/nut/berry system designed with permaculture principles (trying to get some practice on the small scale first!).  Hopefully we'll be doing some small scale chicken raising as well.

Work that will be being done.  Garden stuff (annual and permaculture), construction (root cellar, sauna, and cabins), and markets.

Who we're looking for; enthusiastic people!  There won't be to many people around (4 ish most of the time, more depending on the volunteer thing).  In terms of amenities, well, depends on what you consider.  If we get the sauna done quick, that's a pretty big plus! We're very excited for that.  Washing in the cold river last fall got . . . cold.  Otherwise, tent living, cooking with fire, making music, shooting bows, hunting, exploring the woods, swimming, singing, meditating, etc.  It's great fun.  No experience necessary.

If you're someone with some experience and willing to commit for a longer period, we've got extra tilled space that we're planning on cover cropping for future projects.  But if you wanted a bit of it... we can offer a small plot for your own project, which could be worked on once work-trade commitments are done.  Product produced (be it teas, cut flowers, preserves..) could be sold with us at market, and you keep the profit.

Food is flexible vegan oriented (not really out of a philosophy, but..well, we have a huge garden of fresh veggies). Lots of eggs, and meat depending on how fast we learn to hunt well.  (We're pretty new to this stuff!)

So, if you'd like to come learn with us, we'd love to have you!
