Check us out 'The Good Farm' on Facebook. Or very new website: www.wegrowgoodfood.com

We are an ever evolving, ever growing concept farm.  Sustainability is our goal.  All produce is grown organically. We try to provide as much food for our animals as we can.  Our vision is to provide as much food for ourselves. Our mission is to provide a safe food supply for our community.

NEW STUFF FROM 2011: Slaughtering broilers, having laying hens, and 4 Nigerian dwarf goats were our 2011 projects.

NEW  STUFF FOR 2012: Adding pigs in the next couple of weeks, adding more layers, will have raw goat milk in the spring for drinking and cheese making.  Also, would like to add bees, mushroom cultivation, and berries to the mix this season. We have also been asked to bake all natural dog treats for the local bakery and health food store.

Normal duties may include feeding and watering animals, collecting eggs, cooking one meal per week, selling at market, helping with deliveries, construction projects, baking; garden jobs include ground preparation, seeding, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, packaging.

Always interested in hearing from folks who would like to not just read about sustainable agriculture, but come experience it. The need for additional help fluctuates based on what is happening at the time. There is normally opportunity for additional short or long term stays.  Room and board provided, stipend offered in the summer for full season interns; in the winter the opportunity to seek off the farm employment exists. Stipend always negotiable, dependent upon how income is affected by your presence. We do offer an experience of a lifetime, regardless of time of year.

In contacting the farm at thegoodfarm@gmail.com I like to see answers presented in whattever way you choose to the following:  Why is organic farming or sustainable agriculture important to you? Why would you want to come stay with us? What would you hope to gain from a stay with us?  Are there any personal projects you would like to bring to or be involved with while staying here? Do you have any prior experience?

There are 3 attributes which are basic requirements to come stay with us: flexibilty, good attitude, willingness to learn. Possessing these characterisitics are the cornerstone of having a good experience with us and likewise.

Website is just being seeded: www.wegrowgoodfood.com

We love to teach, and we love to learn. The inlearningship at our place is mutually rewarding and beneficial. We hope to hear from you soon.
