Locavore Farms is taking a break right now. Please check back with us later, and in the meantime, here's a sneak preview of what to expect from our farm.
-----------------------------------------------------------
As a WWOOFer, you'll be taking care of plants and animals, helping to dream and work our paradise of a farm into being, connecting with a rural community (from real cowboys to Native American elders and everything in between), staffing the U-Pick and farmstand, weeding, watering, harvesting, and helping to create a new vision for our organic farm. We need help with planting crops and trees, habitat restoration, selling produce, animal care, scaring the deer out of the herb garden, and applying Permaculture principles to the design and vision for the “transfarmation” of the ranch. Our approach is to be gentle and intuitive working in open-minded partnership with each other and the spirit of the land. Locavore Farms is located on part of the land which is Rancho LoveJoyPeace. The 100 acres of the Rancho is pasture and sagebrush with a year-round creek running through and a small spring-fed pond, in a very small town bordering an Indian reservation and public (BLM) lands. We are looking for respectful, responsible guests who know how to have self-sufficient, healthy fun. We need musicians and dancers and dreamers and artists. We welcome you to come and have the experience of a lifetime.
