Maverick Farms is an educational non-profit farm located in the mountains of western North Carolina.  Farm work can be very physically and mentally taxing, and requires long hours in the sun and/or rain. You should be able to lift 50 pounds and not be afraid of getting dirty. There is room available in the house, or you may choose to set up a tent for your stay (more private). We will certainly accommodate any dietary needs you may have, but please note that this is an omnivorous household. We eat extremely well here and I  love spending the time to enjoy the bounty of summer, however board does not include processed foods, sodas, or alcohol (you are welcome to buy those on your own). Also note that we share the house with indoor/outdoor cats and dogs. Additionally, Maverick Farms hosts a number of events and is active in the farming community off the farm as well.
