** NOTICE **
We are especially looking for agriculturalists, farmers, or avid gardeners!! In other words, people that want to farm or are passionate about farming.
Our certified organic farm is located in Moloa’a, on the northeast side of Kauai. Of 28.5 acres, 4 acres are vegetable gardens, the rest are mostly orchards, hardwoods and bamboo. We feed the island with diverse, seasonal vegetables: carrots, beets, broccoli, sweet potatoes, kale, lettuce, chard, herbs, etc. We supply restaurants, health food stores and farmers markets. Our fruits include mangoes, avocado, bananas, papayas, pineapples, dragon fruit, jack fruit, noni, citrus, etc. We are a family farm, with a small community of workers sharing the land.
We especially welcome experienced agriculturalists and also fresh gardeners eager to gain experience. We are looking for open, communicative, inspiring individuals eager to work and gain experience through sowing, caring for, and harvesting our produce. We encourage long term visitors and residents (6 months or more), although hardworking enthusiastic farmers staying a short duration are also welcome. We ask please no tobacco, young children, or pets.
Our farm provides a rural, rustic, in-the-dirt outdoor living (we provide a platform with tarp over-head, and you need to bring your own tent). We offer vegetables, solar shower, and internet connection. Our work trade is 20 hours the first week of training, and 15hrs a week afterwards (expect to work approx. 20 hours per week or more). There is also the possibility of paid positions in excess of work trade hours. We ask that you come with a no commitment trial. Longer term stays are contingent upon successful trial period and availability.
