Frosty Morning Farm is looking for volunteers or interns for this growing season! (Short term or partial season) Check out our description and contact us!

I'm a photojournalist, herbalist, and radical-homemaker-in-training. My husband and I are looking for farm internships for this summer. We're eager to learn any self-sufficiency skills that will help us reach our goal of living off the land in an earthship. Propagating, planting, grafting, permaculture, animal husbandry, canning, preserving, fermenting, sewing, cooking, sustainable building, car maintenance, etc. We're cheerful hard-workers who are drama-free. We will do whatever farm work needs to be done as well as offer my photography, writing, and herbalism skills in whatever way would be helpful. We're happy to relocate just about anywhere. But being near mountains would be a plus. Please contact me if you have any positions open. Thank you!

Hello farmers! My name is Briana Renfrow and I am currently on the hunt for an extended internship beginning in the next few months or so. I have some experience with farming and gardening, and am hoping to expand on these skills with more in-depth learning for a full season in 2012. I am particularly interested in the areas of animal husbandry (beekeeping would be fantastic!) and the crafting of value-added products such as cheeses, herbal medicines, canned and fermented preserves, baked goods, etc. I hope to use these skills to one day run my own homestead and would like to pass on the skills I learn in community ecological education programs. Please let me know if I can be of help on your farm!

Hi Briana, we are still looking for interns for the 2012 season. If you are still looking, check out our website: eastforkfarm.net

We could really use your help... Thanks We are just outside Oxford, Ms.

We are 20 miles/minutes from Portland Oregon!

Briana, If you are still looking, feel free to contact me in Ohio. AuntEllenS@aol.com

Hello Briana. Please check out our website for Internships and other opportunities. We are currently accepting applications for our 2012 Heritage Breeds Livestock Program Internship. www.accokeekfoundation.org

Hello Briana, Please check out our profile - we are looking for someone just like you! Income is included in a longer term apprentice position. Cheers, Mimi

Hello Briana, we have 16 hives and lots of free range chickens. In addition to that we work very closely with local chefs and food artisans who use our produce to make pasta, canned sauces, salsas and jams & bread. Check out our profile and learn more about us or visit our website at www.oldenproduce.com. Thanks for your time and interest.

Hi Briana, check out our post from yesterday and our profile page. We also raise bees.

Hey there. . . Sarah, here from Grassland Organic Farm. Although we don't have bees, we have an incredibly diversified organic farm where we are milking 40 cows, raising 4 acres of mixed veggies, raising pastured broiler chickens, laying hens, and pigs. We do not sell cheese or canned food, but we make these items on the farm for all of us to eat. These are definitely skills you would learn. If you are still interested in interviewing farms you can learn more about us at www.grasslandorganicfarm.com Thanks!

Hello Briana, Please see our post from 1/23/2012 describing what we have available. We would love someone to get back into bees around here! We have the equipment, just not the time at the moment! Mimi

Hello Briana. This is Fred McNeal the owner of Farmer Fred's in northeastern PA. You sound like you would be a great match for our operation. We are involved with vegetables, fruit, herbs, maple syrup, and fall decorative pumpkins. I see that you like husbandry....we currently have two hives and are looking to expand this year to 4 or 5 and we would love to have someone around who has interest in bees. We are also looking to start up a small beef herd this year and my father (and neighbor) has a dairy herd if you are interested in dairy. Finally, we raise grass fed chickens and we are constantly raising new batches of chicks if you are interested in chickens. We are opening a produce stand/farm store this year and we are going to be doing a lot of experimentation this year with value added products such as jams, pickles, and other canned products. We want to venture further into herbs and baked goods so we would gladly open up our kitchen to you so you can experiment and learn beside us. We will be very flexible for you if you decide to join us. If you decide that you like interacting with people, then we will try to get you involved with farmer's markets and the farm store, but if you just like being around bees and plants, we will gladly let you spend most of your days around the hives and the garden. I hold an advanced degree in renewable energy and we are going to be doing biofuel, and potentially wind and solar as well. We produce our own compost and other ammendments on-site and stick to organic methods with all enterprises. If you are interested please feel free to contact me by phone (607) 738 3837 or by email mcneafm05@gmail.com Good luck with your search!

Please ck our host site. We have current openings.

Frosty Morning Farm is looking for volunteers or an intern for the 2012 growing season. We are a small (2 acre) certified organic, diversified farm growing mixed vegetables, culinary and medicinal herbs, cut flowers and fruit. We primarily sell at a weekly farmer's market. We have a small orchard of berries and tree fruit and a nursery and raise potted perennials and herb plants. We raise dairy goats, poultry and rabbits and sometimes a pig or two and produce our own milk, meat, cheese, and eggs. We use our two Halflinger horses for some of the farm work. We do lots of canning and we do our own butchering on the farm. We make and sell herb products and goat's milk soap. Food is primary here and we love to cook and not waste anything. We also make our own wine. Our farm is within a beautiful, 432 acre community land trust, so there's more than just our farm and family to interact with. There's lots to learn and experience here. (but not all at the same time!) Check out our profile and get in touch with us if you are interested!

Hello! I am very interested and eager to learn about herbs, herbal medicine, permaculture, community, energy, and am looking for an internship/apprenticeship that could assist in my growth in exchange for some hard, dedicated hands-on commitment of time, energy, and spirit =) If there is space available, my partner would love to join and assist where needed as well. He can bring experience in living on a cattle farm and his passion for learning and hard work. Please let us know if I/us would be a good fit for your community this season!

We're doing a lot of those things you mentioned. Check out our profile and get in touch with us. We're in upstate NY within an intentional community.

: ) Hi!My name is Anala, and I have been *yearning* to make my way out to Kauai for a while, now... and I finally have my chance! I *just* found out today~~ I will be arriving on February 13/14th, and staying through March 8. {~!~ Wow ~!~}During this time I am seeking places to visit, connect with kindred spirits, contribute to the daily community life in whatever ways I may be helpful, while experiencing their lifestyle, community, ways of being. I would love to hear from folks around there, to connect and see if I might be interested in including your community in one of my places to experience and exchange with. I have lived in community quite a bit, including at Lost Valley Educational Center, an aspiring ecovillage outside of Eugene, Oregon. Wonderful, beautiful people and land and synergistic growth, there. And the Heart of Now workshop . . . mmm. A gem. I have experience and skills in various areas which may be beneficial, including with gardening, cooking/meal preparation, childcare; and I just earned my permaculture certificate this past year~~ and am always open to trying new things! I also am in training to become a holistic health guide, and grew up at a yoga institute in NE Pennsylvania. And I love to play music/sing/*harmonize*! And I am 30 years old, female, with a degree in Environmental Studies from Oberlin, and a Master's in Vedic Science. There's a little bit about me. :)I would love to hear some more about you and your situation, and possibly spend time there and get a feel for your community, in whatever capacity might be most useful to you, and for some length of time between 1 and 3 weeks; whatever might work for you. Thank you very much; *Grazie mille* ~ Mahalo ~ 'til soon! ~Anala ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ The plain fact is that the planet does not need more 'successful' people. But it does desperately need more peacemakers, healers, restorers, story-tellers, and lovers of every shape and form. It needs people who live well in their places. It needs people of moral courage willing to join the fight to make the world habitable and humane. And these needs have little to do with success as our culture has defined it. – David Orr

Anala, Are you still looking for farms/communities to visit and volunteer at. Our farm is within Common Place Land Cooperative, an intentional Community in upstate NY.
