Hello all! I am new to farming but I'm a hard worker, willing to work for a learning experience. I live in Milwaukee, WI but would LOVE to travel elsewhere and I am willing to do so for room and board. I'm a student of Nutritional Science (taking on-line classes now, may or may not take a break depending on where I go) and my goal is to teach children about eating fresh, healthy food and sustainability. I'm available anytime after April 1st until whenever!

We are a working farm with three young children who are integral part of our diversified certified organic operation. We sell at farmers' markets, direct to stores, and through a multifarm CSA in addition to being active members of our community. We would love to talk more with you. Hi Jackie! We have a couple recent openings on our farm looking to fill ASAP. We are a 12-acre, growing to organic standards veggie farm. Selling produce to restaaurants and at local farmers markets. I have a great crew this year, just looking for a few more. Very nice housing as well. And one of the most beautiful farms you'll find on a gorgeous island in the Pacific Northwest. Check out my website www.willowoodfarm.net or email me at willowoodfarm@gmail.com for more info.

Hi Jackie, have you found your farm yet? We're a young farming couple in a really pretty part of western Maine. We're looking for an intern to start later on this month and help on our farm and our landlord's farm through the end of October or so. Room, board, a stipend, and lots of great learning experience on two farms with different approaches to organic agriculture. See our page for more info .. .

We grow a wide variety of vegetables, herbs, and fruit for our CSA and farmers market in our high tunnel as well as outdoors. Also preserve the harvest for ou own use, make soaps, wine, and other fun stuff. Please check out our listing here or visit our website www.circleagarden.com for more information or to contact us.

Hello Jackie! I have a new place to travel to if you are interested...the rural and beautiful Appalachian Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania. We run a farm and produce stand there and we are involved with vegetables, fruit, honey, and herbs. We are looking to also start a small beef herd this year. Nutrition is SO importand and something that we would like to promote more at our produce stand and farmers' markets. The word needs to get out more about the power of good nutrition and we would love to have you work on creative ways to improve how we incorporate nutrition at our stand and farmers' markets. Its also great that you are wanting to reach children about healthy food and sustainability. The current rate of child obesity and diabetes is disturbing. There is a day care and 3 grade schools near our stand. We would love for you to get those kids involved and potentially have field trips to the farm and farm stand. We could provide the kids with fresh produce and you we could show them how healthy food is produced from the seed to the table. I hold a degree in renewable energy and I am all about sustainability. We are installing a small biofuel facility to fuel our tractors and we currently looking into wind and solar to cover our electricity. Perhaps you could give the kids a nutrition lesson and then I could show them some things on renewables and sustainability? There are all sorts of things that we can do but I love your one-two punch of nutrition and sustainability. We would be glad to give you room and board in exchange for your help around the farm and the stand. I see it as a win-win for both of us. Give me a call at (607) 738 3837 or email me at mcneafm05@gmail.com if you are interested. Good luck with your seach and show those children the way!
