We are looking for one or two interns interested in getting some experience under their belts and learning the early stages of building a farm. You can expect to learn about milk goats, pastured chickens, building mobile sheds, fencing, cheese making and preserving food, general tractor repair and maintenance,, vermi-composting, seeding and transplanting, cover cropping, planting, weeding, harvesting, trellising, washing, packing, and farmers markets. We are mostly vegetable farmers by trade but have embraced the whole system for our own sustainable survival. We also have several building projects up and coming including converting an old milk truck into a produce cooler and building a greenhouse. We hope apprentices will seize the opportunity to work in areas of sustainable agriculture that particularly interest them, as in taking on special projects or experiments. We are looking for a minimum of 4 weeks internship if the first 2 week trial period goes well. Interns live in a camper, eat fresh farm food, and receive a small stipend. Message us if interested!
My boyfriend and I are both interested in this opportunity. We have little experience but would LOVE to get involved and learn about the whole process in hopes of one day having our own farm. When would you want us? :)
