Started this organic farm approximately five years ago in Matagalpa, Nicaragua.
We do NOT charge you for sharing and staying with us, we do provide free basic food staples and you will have the option of cooking and eating your meals in group or individualy using either a wood stove or our biodigestor. You will stay in our wooden shacks of different capacities depending on availability, please bring a sleeping bag or linen.
The farm is located in the community of San Antonio de Upa, San Ramon, which is approximately 1.5 hours from the city of Matagalpa or 41 kilometers and is 1,200 meters above sea level. There is all the virgen green mountains available for you to investigate and hike, so if you have the time, we have the open space.
The area is poor and in great need of anyone who can help out, be it, with teaching, medical, carpentry, vetenarian knowledge or just physical help on the farm.
Have been reforesting and raising some animals, like cattle, horses, rabbits, chickens, turkeys, guinea hens, ducks, geese etc.
We are raising worms for composting and using manure for our biodigester and cooking needs.
The reforesting consists of wood, fruit and coffee trees and a variety of other fruts and vegtables, all in growth process.
We have a river and would like to start a fish farm with tilapia or another fish adaptable to the area and if you have any knowledge of estableshing a pond please drop in.
Would like to have individuals with any knowledge of any type of organic farming, open to individuals who also just want to help work on the farm.
