We live on 40 acres of the original 160 homestead my husband's grandfather homesteaded. We have been the fortunate caretakers for the past 25 years. We raise a bit of everything here and our most recent and highest compliment was from a visitor who said, "Happy farm animals! That's what you have!" No matter what they're being raised for, they are happy and treated with the highest respect while they are here.
We believe in sustainable farming practices. We try to raise our food like my husband's granfather did 80 years ago. It's a very noble cause.
We operate a farm stay with rental of the antique sheep wagon available nightly or weekly. We can always use help in the garden, fencing and shoveling manure! We are passionate about preserving our little piece of the family farm and hoping to meet others who are like-minded.
Garden helpers are more than welcome to pick from the bounty, depending on what's available seasonally.
Every Friday throughout the summer I have a day camp for kids called "Felt It On The Farm". Kids ages 8 and up can milk the goats, gather eggs, feed the multitude of chickens, shovel manure and add it to the compost heap, toss bread slices to the pigs and have an afternoon of felting fun with wool from Serenity Sheep!
You can read more about it on our website http://www.serenitysheepfarmstay.com.
