Marra Farm is a permanently protected, ecologically healthy open space in a diverse south Seattle community. Our mission is to create a model urban farm that engages the community in education and sustainable agriculture to enhance local food security. We are striving to make the farm a place where people can learn about growing organic produce, food related issues and environmental stewardship. On our four acre site there is communtity garden plots, a youth gardening and employment program, a giving garden that donates organic produce to low-income community residents, and a partial stream restoration project to enhance salmon habitat. We work with people of all ages, from all backgrounds, with any or no gardening experience-we just ask for enthusiastic people who are interested in sustainable agriculture and food security issues.
