The Mushroomery is a new farm is is still getting established. We are a family-run farm on 14 acres, 40 minutes from Corvallis, OR. We designed and are building our mushroom growing facility with a laboratory. We have children, a dog, cats, chickens, ducks, and 2 goats we are training to be pack animals. We grow organic, medicinal mushrooms, make mushroom tincture, harvest wild mushrooms and like to experiment with bioremediation using fungi.  We would like to find people interested in helping us to establish a sustainable farm. Children and well-behaved animals are welcome. Work varies each day and the amount of time spent working varies as well. Some days are long days and some short. There is usually at least one building project going on. Everyone has regular farm chores and house chores. You must be able to clean up after yourself. Other things we do here include weeding, mulching, composting, attending to a young orchard, hosting workshops, attending  Farmers’ Markets, mushroom cultivation, gardening, and working with chickens, ducks, geese and goats. One organic meal will be provided, other meals are up to you. There is usually plenty of fresh vegetables and mushrooms. Accommodations are tent sites, some are secluded, with house privileges, or  a bedroom in a new building detached from the house.  We are flexible with respect to length of stay but a one week trial period is requested. We can pick folks up in Corvallis and there will be transportation to Corvallis to run errands at least once a week. A few fun things we like to do are listening to and playing music and having fires outside. Please only call if you like children, have respect, can work alone with written instructions, can work in a group, can keep things organized  (mushroom farming is very detailed and attention to detail is necessary).
