Our organic family farm is a 30-acre homestead surrounded by woods. It consists of: a mixed orchard; flower, herb and vegetable gardens; honeybee yard; berry patches; beautiful rolling hills; and woods with abundant wildlife.

Blackberry Hills Farm (1989) is located 20 miles northeast of Menomonie, Wisconsin. The majority of our produce is delivered to members of Blackberry Community Farm, our 100 member CSA.

We also sell surplus produce to local restaurants, food-co-ops and the general public.

We are looking for two or three people that are interested in learning about growing organic food, participating in a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), living close to nature, and living a healthy lifestyle. Our farm is alcohol, tobacco, and drug free.

Position is Monday – Friday, April through October, 2011. Starting and ending dates are flexible. Daily schedule dependent upon weather (generally 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with one hour off for lunch).  We also accept volunteers; please contact for details.

DUTIES OF FARM APPRENTICE WILL INCLUDE:

Greenhouse work, soil preparation, weeding, insect control, harvesting, packing and delivering produce, food preservation, farm construction, household chores, and other help as needed.

BLACKBERRY COMMUNITY FARM WILL PROVIDE:

Education and training in gardening, farm work, and CSA operation; room, and two vegetarian meals per day – Monday through Friday, plus garden produce; and $175 per week ($150 weekly stipend, and a $25 per week end of season bonus).
